The properties of materials are only the macroscopic manifestation of a complex interaction mechanisms involving structural material composition and components on numerous scales. The material's structure implies a significant impact on the overall material properties and thus mechanical, electro-magnetic performance, and many others.
Therefore, it is of enormous importance to develop novel processing methods enabling to control the material at different scales together with techniques for exploring, describing and understand the multiscale nature of materials. and to describe and understand, to reliably predict, and - ultimately - to advantageously control the mechanics and physics of solids.
Petroceramics has gained a solid and bright experience in structuring materials at the mesoscopic scale for enhancing and ad-hoc achieving and controlling specific material properties.
